A fitting raze to one of the best anime of 2007. Unlike Gainax series before it, the ending makes sense. Well, not logical sense, but this is Gurren Lagann. But it does follow that crazy impress of GL sense, and it keeps its seriousness tempered with mind-blowing animation and energy. If anyone, and I mean anyone, did not gather some manly mist-eyes in episode 26, they have no soul. Again, the ending couldn’t have been better. Highly recommended.

I absolutely cherish this series. Underneath the flash, action, surreality, completely bizarro and truly Immense scale events of cosmic destruction and rebirth is a very touching epic about friendship, savor, and “fighting spirit” to transcend the bonds of despair. This is an absolute must have series. Its at turns consuming, silly, action-packed, ridiculous, visually edgy / eye-popping, exquisite, surreal, touching, dismal, exploitative and flat out mind-blowing in scale. You gotta leer it to fill it. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved it. Highly recommended.

This unbelievable fantasy yarn stars Johnny Depp as a not-quite-real teenager who was built by an eccentric inventor. Diane Wiest is perfect as the ditsy and always-cheerful mom. Ryder is convincing as a selfish and wrong teen. Hall is the villian you cherish to dislike. The star, of course, is Johnny Depp. As Edward, he is painfully timorous and lovelorn; his performance is so heart-wrenchingly radiant that you ache for him in every scene. Covered with white make-up and with only a few words of dialogue, Depp proves he is a very talented actor. The fabulous and quite extinct Vincent Ticket, as Edward’s loving creator, will surely bring a lope to your peruse.

This completely novel film blends comedy, fantasy, and romance to effect a sentimental fairy account that both teens and adults will savor. It is a heart-breaker; bring your hankie.

Every director probably has one movie that he pours share of himself into. For Spielberg, it was ET, Lucas had American Graffiti. Here, Tim Burton poured into the soul of Edward Scissorhands the world of an outsider, a creation of an extinct inventor (wonderfully played by Vincent Impress) who passes on before he can execute Edward(wonderfully played by Johnny Depp) . Edward is one day discovered by Peg Boggs, a exciting Avon lady, who takes Edward home to suburbia, a community of multi-colored houses that could only advance from the mind of Burton and production designer Bo Welch. Danny Elfman delivers probably his most interesting gather in this represent. The DVD looked like it would be incredile with what was announced, but it would have to lose starts for what I thought: 1) Audio commentary by Burton and Elfman: Both of these guys do not talk all the intention through the film, (though it does sound a diminutive better than Devlin and Emmerich on ID4’s DVD & Barry Levinson and Tommy LEe Jones on Men In Dark, who chatter on like inane movie theater patrons) . But most of the time I found myself wondering when they would voice again. Burton probably speaks 12-15 times through most of the movie, but it sounds more like he’s having cramped afterthoughts. Elfman’s audio plays after definite music segments are done (his background music plays over the dialogue so we hear outright how it sounds) . 2) Tim Burton understanding art: after seeing The Tarzan Collector’s Edition, this was a letdown, with only about 7 pieces of art (5 concepts of Edward, 1 of the Inventor, and 1 of Edward’s location in the mansion’s attic) . 3) The featurette talking about the film is also a letdown, as there is nothing that was reall indispensable (I was really looking forward to hearing how Stan Winston Studios made the Scissorhands props) . The only chilly famous is the interactive menu, made like a pop-up book of the mansion Edward is found in. If you are looking to win a sizable movie, derive this DVD. If you are into those that promise wonderful extra features, pass this one up.

I absolutely worship this movie. I know it gets some mixed reviews but I assume it is because the world is design too cynical. Redford does and salubrious job with belief of sport as Metaphor for life. Juna has lost his swing which in life terms is his soul and must acquire it help if he is going to regain relieve in the game. Bagger is a spiritual yarn (caddy) of some sort who is there to befriend him acquire his arrangement.

The cinematography is honest breathtaking. The golfcourse looks like the Garden of Eden. I worship stories about larger than life characters on a sizable toddle. This is certainly one of them. The movie objective makes you feel profitable about life. I earn the regain animated as it especially enhances the golf scenes. A very fine movie indeed. Will Smith does a substantial job in his untradional dramatic role although he has a few rather droll parts.

The best is Lemmon’s ending line as narrator. “Bagger always said it is a game that can’t be won only played. So I played. I play on. I play for the moments yet to near. Looking for my state in the field.”

One aspect of this film not brought up is the fact that it is loosly based on the Bhagavad-Gita (refered to my many as “the Hindu Current Testiment”) . Anyone who has read this mountainous masterpiece of literature should behold this movie, if they have not already!

Will Smith’s Character Bagger Vance reprsents Krishna, who is also called “Bhagavan”; Matt Damon plays Randall Juna (“R. Juna”) who represents Krishna’s friend Arjuna. Instead of Arjuna’s chariot driver, Bagger is Juna’s caddy. While this doesn’t follow the tale of the BG exactly, for those who know the memoir and the philosophy, both shine through in a dazzling and endearing scheme. Juna has returned from WWI with a case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(called Shell Shock succor then) and refuses to capture up his clubs and play golf in a tournement held in his hometown (like Arjuna’s refusal to fight at the opening of the Barata War) . Bagger tells Juna that “Inside each one of us is our one moral authentic swing” and once, when someone asks him what is snide with Juna, Bagger answers “The dilemma is, he detached thinks he’s Randall Juna!” Hindu philosophy is peeking out of ever dim corner in this film. It is truly a Gem, and I’m not usually a Will Smith or a Matt Damon fan…

If you’re a student of Indian religion or philosophy, you MUST observe this film!

Sometimes things unprejudiced find better with age. Buy the eighth season of South Park for example, which somehow found creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker pushing the limits of of cable television even further in these fourteen episodes. The season begins simple enough, spoofing anime and Dragonball Z in the first episode (“Estimable Times With Weapons”) and crash dancing and the black movie You Got Served (“You Got F’d in the A”), and then things select a very different (and even funnier) turn with the “The Passion of the Jew” as Cartman takes his fancy for Mel Gibson and the Passion of the Christ to a recent level as Stan and Kenny try to catch their money abet after seeing the film. Disabled Jimmy is willing to go to any lengths to procure the special olympics in “Up the Down Steroid” (engage that Barry Bonds!) while “Goobacks” became an instant classic taking on the illegal immigration direct with a hilarious sci-fi twist. The second half of the season gets even better with “The Jeffersons” as a unusual man with a fondness for children who bears a striking resemblance to the King of Pop moves into town, “Douche and Turd” which puts a traipse on the election and the very, very cramped choice anyone has in the matter, “Something Wall-Mart This Intention Comes” in which the mega store comes to town and the kids try to derive a contrivance to combat the unfavorable within it, Paris Hilton gets unbelieavbly scathed in “Tiring, Faulty Whore Video Playset”, and the closing Christmas episode “Woodland Critter Christmas” may very well go down in history as one of the best episodes in the history of the series. For the most fraction, season after season, the boys leisurely the mayhem of South Park manage to attack recent issues and events with unabashed glee, and this season was no different. All in all, the eighth season of South Park only furthers the thought that the explain is detached going strong, and here’s hoping it never stops.

“Obedient Times with Weapons”–The boys assume martial arts weapons at the county elegant and dive into the world of anime. “The Passion of the Jew”–Boy, is this all of a sudden relevant again. Cartman convinces Kyle to eye The Passion of the Christ and Kyle is so traumatized, he begins to seek information from his faith. Cartman then organizes a movement reminiscent of something that happened in Germany 70 years ago. Meanwhile, Stan and Kenny try to find their theatre sign money abet by confronting Mel Gibson. The Gibson scenes are method over-the-top.

“I Got F’d in the A”–The boys score “served” by Orange County dancers and the adults seem to care more about the location than the boys. When Stan’s dad teaches his son to dance, Stan serves up the other kids and “it’s on” (whatever) .

“Awesom-o”–Another one of my favorites. Cartman pretends to be Butters’ personal robot to secure dirt on him, but when Butters lets it be known that he has video of Cartman in an embarrassing site, Cartman has to play robot longer than he expected. Soon “Awesom-o” will be extinct by movie producers to reach up with film ideas and be the object the government wants to convert into a weapon. Big scene: when the movie producer asks “Awesom-o” if he’s been programmed to pleasure humans.

“The Jeffersons”–One of SP’s all-time best!! Michael, uh, Jefferson and his son Blanket disappear into South Park but Kyle is concerned Mr. Jefferson “honest seems like he wants to be a kid, not have one.” Mr. Jefferson thinks everyone is unprejudiced “ignorant.” Broad scenes: Stan’s dream (yuck),and “Got your nose.” The music is advantageous, too.

“Goobacks”–People from the over-populated future near to the past seeking employment and blue collar workers from the indicate yelp that these “goobacks” are taking their jobs. These workers have a solution: to turn tickled so as to finish future generations.

“Douche and Turd”–PETA is forcing South Park Elementary to change their cow mascot. Kyle and Cartman compete with two different write-in candidates. “Quest for Ratings”–The boys’ school news note is getting smoked in the ratings, so they need to jazz it up.

“Tiresome Defective Whore Video Playset”–All the girls want to be like Paris Hilton. Wendy does not reflect Paris is a well-behaved role model but, when she is ditched by her friends, she is about to give in. Mr. Slave saves the day by competing with Paris in a whore-off.

“Cartman’s Astounding Gift”–After being in a coma, police detectives absorb Cartman has developed psychic powers to identify serial killers. Of course, many innocent people are arrested as a result.

“Woodland Critter Christmas”–Now this epic is hooked. Stan helps a group of animals prepare for the birth of their savior only to secure out they are devil worshippers. The last line of the epic is hilarious.

I absolutely adore Selena Gomez. She has so powerful talent, she sings, she acts, she does it all. I’m a sizable fan of her. This movie was adorable, I contemplate her indicate all the time. Pick IT!! 5/5

Though each individual episode of the hit Disney Channel TV explain “Wizards of Waverly Plot” is fun and quirky in its possess suitable, all the material (acting, area, witty one-liners) seems to skim by so fleet that the viewer isn’t left with considerable exact emotion. `Kamikaze Girls’ is a toothsome, pop, new, and utterly sweet myth of the friendship between two Japanese girls Momoko and Ichigo. Determined, some fraction of the film’s very disarming charms can be appreciated more with knowledge of unusual Japanese culture, but that doesn’t mean the film should be seen only by the miniature coterie of moviegoers. After all the film’s theme is a universal one.

First, remember the film’s unique title (and its unique new) is called `Shimotsuma Monogatari’ (The anecdote of Shimotsuma) because this right town that is located in the northern suburb of Tokyo City (about 60 km to the north of the metropolis) is the spot where we meet our cute heroines.

OK, this rural town is the site where Momoko (meaning literally `peach-child’ in Japanese) is living. She loves wearing glowing, girlish (and expensive) clothing (usually referred to `Lolita’ or `Lolita Fashion’ in Japan) and in order to bewitch them she goes all the method to Tokyo. Somehow this incongruous pair of girls gets friendlier to each other, and Momoko, confirmed loner, finds there is something precious that she cannot consume, more precious than the cherish dress that she is wearing.

[DELIGHTFUL] The incredibly charming film is not so distinguished about the legend as the two incredibly charming characters Momoko (Kyoko Fukada) and Ichigo (Anna Tsuchiya) . From the exaggerated cartoon-ish style of introduction, we immediately fell in appreciate with these heroines, whose new outlook on life and new code of behavior perfectly matches their equally novel and unique fashion. Actually, Momoko’s costumes are one of the assets of the film, which will be valid inspiration for designers.

Unfortunately, some humorous scenes might be lost on non-Japanese viewers, which heavily rely on the linguistic differences between some regions in Japan. Please remember this. Momoko’s father is from Kansai site, of which dialect is more down-to-earth and slightly earthy than the words Momoko usually uses with a posh speak, who loves the French rococo fashion. Momoko’s always gramatically lawful speech makes a astronomical dissimilarity with Ichigo’s frequent verbal slip-ups when heard in Japanese. And as to the several amusing episodes about selling untrue goods, they are very exaggerated, but not totally fictional.

But you don’t have to concern about the languages, because the joy of `Kamikaze Girls’ means its laughable visuals and portraits of the likable heroines, Momoko and Ichigo. The only thing I disagree with `Kamikaze Girls’ is its misleading English title. Why not call it simply like `Momoko and Ichigo’ or something? Otherwise it is an absolutely charming film with these cute, pleasing, and inimitable heroines.

By the intention, contrary to the impression you might have from the role of Ichigo, Anna Tsuchiya started her career as fashion model.

One of the few delicious movies I’ve seen in novel years is this quirky adaptation of Novala Takemoto’s unusual. Dreamer Momoko Ryugasaki feels stranded in Shimotsuma in Ibaraki Prefecture, north of Tokyo, i.e. the boonies. She feels more at home in France’s opulent Rococo period (1715-1770), cutting quite a figure dressed in her pink Lolita dress, white parasol, and white platforms. She is the main character and narrator, occasionally speaking to the camera.

Momoko lives with her loser father and grandmother in a shabby hut, a far yowl from her birthplace, the bustling bargain hunters’ paradise of Amagasaki in Hyogo Prefecture–a suburb of Osaka on the northeast shore of Osaka Bay. She has an individualistic come to life, at one point not hesitating to vow made up stories of a classmate in effort to earn money to remove her expensive Lolita clothes, leading her father to yowl in sympathy and fork over the cash. “So what if I was deceitful? My happiness was at stake. It’s not cross to feel well-behaved. But actually my soul is ghastly.” A retread of that 60’s mentality of if it makes you contented, do it.

Enter Ichiko Shiyayuri, a tough-looking, rough-talking, sometimes hot-tempered member of the ladies biker gang The Ponytails who occasionally spits, to the disgust of the more refined Momoko. She is astounded and appreciated at being able to take a bogus Versace jacket for only 2000 yen ($20), and there starts the beginning of the one of the most unlikely friendships ever. Ichiko’s more down-to-earth and more connected to people than Momoko and when the latter makes a comment that really pi**es her off, headbutts her.

Ichiko wants to procure a legendary embroiderer named Emma in Tokyo’s Daikanyama dwelling. Turns out that Akimi, the fierce but handsome leader of the Ponytails is retiring and Ichiko wants to present her gratitude by having some special stitching done on her long kamikaze coat. However, they need money and bad Momoko is hijacked by Ichiko to a pachinko parlour.

Scenes not in the book: some surreal humour when Momoko buys a cabbage then hands it to Ichiko. “This is your original friend.” Another is a low-ranking yakuza named Ryuji whose hairdo has to be seen to be believed–hint, his nickname is Unicorn Ryuji. The dual branding scene of tying in Universal Studios and Versace has a comic side, when to mock the copyright violation done by Momoko’s dad on his false goods, the words “Versace” and “Universal” are bleeped to build them “Ver*ch” and “Uni*sal Studios.” Also satirized are people who feel proud to do money at Jusco–Japan’s Walmart, and pose like in brochures, cheesy smile and all–”this polo shirt cost me only 800 yen.” “These people are bent,” says a disgusted Momoko with a sour expression on her face.

Shimotsuma Monogatari benefits from the dynamic performances of Kyoko Fukada as Momoko and half Japanese/half Russian Anna Tsuchiya as Ichigo. Fukada’s very fetching in the supercute Lolita costumes, which do a nice job of contrasting her tanned complexion and milk-tea coloured hair. Her expressions are toothsome from her cute babyishness to when her eyes widen. Tsuchiya herself has some comical moments, when she clowns around in the Aristocratic Forest café trying to attract Fukada’s attention. But there is a poignant moment when she gets heartbroken, showing her to be more human than Momoko. Tsuchiya is definitely the better actress, having won more awards for this film than Fukada.

Included in the eclectic soundtrack are the Petula Clark-ish “Lucie Est Amoreuse,” the dejected Lisa Loeb-ish “She Said,” the slamming power pop of “Time Machine wa Onegai,” and Yoko Kanno’s get, ranging from sweet violin, ragtime piano, and French café accordion melodies.

One other theme is finding one’s niche. Momoko feels at home wearing her Lolita clothes and is titanic at embroidery. Ichiko’s joyful fixing bikes at a mechanic’s shop in Tsuchiura, but doesn’t want people telling her what to do. Also, settle your bear style over the cheap and casual–Daikanyama’s Baby The Stars Shine Shiny boutique over Jusco.

Watching Shimotsuma Monogatari inspired me to visit the Ushiku Buddha and Shimotsuma itself during my Japan hump. The interior of the Shimotsuma region has been altered from the novel, no tremendous camouflage TV, but the platform where Momoko is seen waiting for her snarl is suitable.

Shimotsuma Monogatari is a droll off-the-wall cult comedy that will be appreciated by Japanophiles, particularly those keen in the youth and fashion scene. One complaint: why Kamikaze Girls? What’s dismal with the modern title?

So what makes this different from any normal episode? Well, first of all it’s site between the sixth and seventh seasons (honest after the departure of TV’s Frank and before Pearl joins as a regular), so Doctor F has the terrible guy side all to himself. In some peoples eyes Burn Up W is what a fine anime should be, a loud, fleet paced adventure with lots of titanic guns, and very well endowed characters. But overall Burn up W is fair suited fun. It’s a feature that doesn’t prefer itself too seriously, and so can be watched over and over, without becoming dreary. It’s the Japanese equivalent of a high school movie, stout of humour, light on position. But who cares, it’s detached radiant wonderful in all respects. The DVD record and sound are good as is the quality and menu system of the package in general. If you’re a Tenchi or Bebop fan, and you don’t buy yourself too seriously, you’ll like this title. Hopefully there will be further DVD episode releases, as the series in its entirety could be loyal superb. Give it a try!

ahhh, the tongue in cheek anime genre, gotta adore it aint cha, they manage to spoof everything including themselves. The two main girls, rio and maya, are overly endowned, as most pf the female characters are, but purely for laughable intent, and humerous it is.

techinically, the animation is some of the best you’re likely to eye from an anime series, the detail is spacious, althogugh it does lack in some areas like minor characters and backgrounds.

The music, is objective substantial, wheras episodes 1 and 2 are laugh out loud droll, the second two are more serious and emotional, what is commendable is that these characters progess believably, and are consistent, its not like they are going for laughs, these are who they are.
